Rams hand the Scorpions their first home loss of the season

RIO RANCHO- The Rio Rancho High School Rams football team (6-3) traveled to Farmington Friday night to face off with the Farmington Scorpions (4-5) and handed them their first home loss.
The final: Rio Rancho 34, Farmington 23.
Despite a couple of turnovers, the Rams had a nice win before they square off with longtime rival Cleveland High School (8-1) Nov. 1.
RRHS head coach Nate Pino's squad handed the Scorpions their first home loss of the season. Prior to this matchup, the Scorpions were 4-0 at home.
The J.J. Arellano-Micah Takahashi RRHS quarterback tandem combined for 345 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, 100 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
Arellano threatened the defense more with his arm (Arellano threw all four touchdowns), while Takahashi was the more effective runner with 71 rushing yards).
The speedster Rams duo of Parker Miller and Jace Pitt also had big games.
Miller caught the ball nine times for 111 yards and one touchdown. Pitt had a monster game, catching 13 balls for 140 yards and three touchdowns.
The Rio Rancho Rams will play their regular season finale against Cleveland High School in Lightning Bolt stadium. The much-anticipated Rio Rancho Rivalry will be at 7 p.m. Nov.1. The winner of the matchup will receive the City of Vision Trophy.
