KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE — On Oct. 2, Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull visited Kirtland Air Force Base to attend the honorary commanders induction event at the Mountain View Community Center on base. Hull, among others, was honored.

The event was hosted by 377th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander Colonel Michael Power, and included special guests like Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Belen Mayor Robert Noblin, and Dr. Cindy Sims, superintendent of Estancia Schools.

Kirtland AFB’s honorary commanders program aims to increase public awareness and understanding of Kirtland Air Force Base missions and to maintain a positive reputation as a good neighbor.

Another goal of the program is to identify, choose and celebrate leaders from various sectors of the New Mexico community, including industry, business, government and the educational system.

Hull received a certification of his induction as a Kirtland AFB honorary commander. Keller, Noblin and Sims also received certificates.
