RIO RANCHO — Duke City Championship Wrestling (DCCW), the metro area’s premier wrestling league, has big things in store for fans this Halloween.

DCCW will be presenting “Brute 666!”, its newest wrestling event, Oct. 31 at the Rio Rancho Events Center. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the first match kicks off at 7 p.m.

According to the news release, DCCW “brings you a night of pure terror and destruction with ‘Brute 666!’ — a wrestling event so intense, only the brave will survive!”

The event will feature major DCCW stars, though the roster has not yet been released.

Certainly, all eyes will be on Hobo Hank, who won the heavyweight title after defeating Sinn Bodhi in the final match of DCCW "September Reign," which took place at the Event Center Sept. 26. Will Bodhi return for revenge after his frustrating loss (by DQ)? It seems likely. Bodhi won his individual match to earn the title fight at September Reign and will want a second chance as soon as he can get it.

Another name to be on the lookout for after September’s match is Mister Happy, who defeated Jaden Monroe to take the "Route 66 Title".

Finally, tag team Sky High (Mondo Rox and Robby Lit) won the "Tag Team Match" at September Reign, taking down Freddy Cordova and Ricky Rebel. If all parties are available, this grudge match may be the fight of the night.

DCCW was created in 2023 by promoter Fred Slow. According to its website, DCCW is, “Albuquerque's premier professional wrestling organization, dedicated to providing fans with top-tier athletic competition, compelling storylines, and unforgettable moments. ... With a rich New Mexico history of unforgettable moments in wrestling and a dedicated fan base, our promotion has become a cornerstone in the realm of sports entertainment.”

Fans who wish to experience all the brutal excitement should come in costume, says the news release. There will be a costume contest with prizes.

All DCCW events are designed for the whole family, but they do offer a brief warning to parents planning to attend.

“Warning: This event is family-friendly but packs a punch of extreme excitement. Come prepared for thrills, chills and a night of brutal mayhem!”
