Supporting Piland for city council

I’ve known Alexandria “Alex” Piland for many years and was delighted to hear she is running for Rio Rancho City Council from district 4. I know her to be a great listener and that her number one priority is to make our city a desirable place to live and work for all residents.

A 28-year resident of Rio Rancho, Alex’s entire life and career have been dedicated to helping people. As an educator, Alex’s teaching and counseling have enhanced the lives of countless young people and helped adult students achieve their dreams.

As a volunteer, Alex gives back to her community. For example, she is a tireless worker for “Feed Rio Rancho Kids,” which collaborates with our city’s public schools to provide snack packs to children who might otherwise go hungry on weekends when school meals are not available.

Alex believes the citizens of Rio Rancho deserve equal access to services. She believes everyone should have the opportunity to compete for a well-paying job regardless of their sexual orientation, religion, race, or ethnicity.

I know that as a city councilor, Alex will focus on providing the services residents need, such as improving access to nutritious, affordable food, responsible economic development, ensuring reliable internet access to all, improving our poor quality roads, addressing water availability and other infrastructure needs, and supporting growth in small business so people will spend their money in Rio Rancho.

A vote for Alexandria Piland is a vote for a leader with the intelligence and heart to improve the quality of life for district 4 and all Rio Rancho residents.
