LETTER: Voting rights must be protected
On Jan. 6, 2021, Donald Trump instigated his base to commit a violent insurrection because he was a sore loser and wanted to hold on to power.
Since then, the right-wing politicians have done everything they could to dismantle our democracy. Hundreds of voter suppression bills in Congress and legislatures across the country.
No one is above the law, and we must hold them accountable.
We must protect our democracy and pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
We must protect voters and election officials and ensure our voting rights are upheld.
