LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Why the failure to bargain with union?

Michaela Helean’s article on Jamie Silva-Steele and her work at Sandoval Regional Medical Center fails to address the elephant in the hospital room. The article excludes any explanation of the hospital administration’s failure to bargain with the nurses’ union.

This reader wants to know why Silva-Steele would use the hospital’s funds for a union-busting law firm and temporary nurses rather than for salaries and benefits for nurses.
