LETTER TO THE EDITOR: US on wrong path under Trump

Published Modified

As a veteran, I have to say the country is on a path of destruction led by none other than the one who is supposed to elected to lead it by none other than the glorious clown Trump.

He and his MAGA cult of Christian nationalists are heart-set on converting us all into their mindsets of hate and racism that they conned their base into by electing a fascist regime into power. A hundred days into Trump’s circus of lies, they are seeing what we’ve being telling them about their glorious lord and savior for years is true. He cares nothing for the country, for them, for anyone except himself. The Constitution is being shredded, citizens are being deported without due process, history is repeating itself of 1930s Nazi Germany.

The kicker is, he still has base that cannot see the truth of his dictatorship. Our great country doesn’t, and its people don’t deserve the abuse that’s being inflicted on them by this joke of a president and the three-ring circus that was appointed to be a Cabinet that hasn’t got the qualifications to pour water out of a boot. The House and Senate need to grow some courage and use their constitutional checks and balances to keep this toddler in the White House under control. The American people need to realize that the longer Trump and his clown show are in power, the weaker and weaker they will make this country.

Their attempt to eliminate diversity, equality and inclusion in our country has done nothing but weaken it. Our strength comes from the many cultures, races, backgrounds, sexual orientations and the ability to come together in our difficult circumstances is what makes us strong and resilient. The Trump regime and it’s “dui” culture to “white wash” our country is doing nothing but divide and destroy. Trump and the MAGA cult was and is always wrong. The country has and always will be great; it’s shameful that Trump conned so many people in believing he was the new messiah to save us from the mythical evil immigrants and so many got conned into believing him and the Christian nationalism nonsense.

All we can do for now is urge our elected officials to fight this tyranny in Washington and, when we get the chance, fight it at the ballot box.
