LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Social Security is not a handout

I am deeply ashamed to be represented by men who reneg on America's promise to help people all over the globe. They gleefully steal from older Americans while they line their own already full pockets. Social Security isn’t a handout — it’s a promise that millions of us older Americans have paid into with every paycheck. This administration is dismantling an essential program, closing offices, cutting hotlines and spreading misinformation to justify these attacks. As an elder we deserve dignity, not broken promises.
