New Mexicans are proud of our congressional delegation who are standing up for veterans, seniors, children and economically disadvantaged by fighting against the destruction of our government.

We are not mean, spiteful people, and we care about our fellow citizens, whoever they may be.

We need better from the Republican Party than to stand for fascism, cruelty and hate.

The writer's bona fides: American citizen concerned about others.
