LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Learn how to survive under martial law

Published Modified

Look at what is happing in some of the largest cities in the US. “Federal agents” backed by the armed military, taking control of large areas of the cities. What does this sound like to me?

Martial law is when the military takes control of an area, temporarily replacing the civilian government during a state of emergency. This is typically done when the civilian government is unable to maintain order due to events like rebellions, natural disasters or civil unrest. Under martial law, military leaders assume control and can suspend civil rights, such as freedom of speech or the right to habeas corpus, and impose measures like curfews to enforce order.

During martial law, civilians typically have their rights heavily curtailed or suspended as the military takes over civil governance to restore order. This can include the suspension of freedoms like movement, speech and protection from unreasonable searches, as well as the implementation of curfews.

Learn now how to survive under martial law now! Hands over your head, no sudden movements, don’t reach for anything, comply with all orders! If not, you risk Kent State all over again. Outlive them — so you can vote them out — is your best defense.
