My name is Barbara Hall and I’ve lived in New Mexico for 40 years and I’ve lived in Sandoval County for 15 years. This year, we have an important primary election coming up on June 4. Audrey Trujillo and Susana Vasquez are the two candidates running for the Republican nomination in Senate District 9.

For me, the choice is pretty clear as to who I believe should represent our community at the legislature in Santa Fe and that is Audrey Trujillo. Audrey was born and raised in New Mexico and she has volunteered and lived in the community for over 30 years. Audrey has raised three children and her husband has been employed with Intel for nearly 30 years. Audrey also helped her husband coach boys and girls with the Corrales Youth Basketball recreational program. She served as the PTA president for Corrales Elementary School and the committee director at the Corrales Mentor Center, which helped out children as well as adults with anti-bullying seminars using martial arts. She also volunteered for the local harvest festival that partnered with the local Kiwanis Club, and was the committee chair for the local 702 Boys Scouts and PAC 702. In 2022, Audrey previously ran for secretary of state. She ran for honesty and integrity in our elections as well as safeguarding our electoral process.

Susana Vasquez has only been in our community for 13 years and she’s originally from Chicago, Illinois.

From what I’ve seen between both of the candidates, Audrey has shown that she can work with others in her community. She is highly respected and is a team player. ...

Overall, Audrey Trujillo is the clear choice to represent Senate District 9 because of her hard work, integrity, honesty, and dedication to doing what is right for the people in this district. She has accomplished all of this while being respectful and cordial to all other candidates. Audrey has the experience and multiple degrees including a masters in public administration with an emphasis in justice administration. She’s also been a small business owner, but is currently retired and has the time to dedicate to improving our dstrict and spend time on working on the problems that we face. Let’s come together and vote for the strongest candidate in this race, Audrey Trujillo, so we can make a difference in our community.

Barbara Hall
