LETTER: RR teens are out of control
Dear Mayor:
With Rio Rancho students being shot recently in the head, drugs and the increased number teenaged girls being raped within the city, where is DPS when rave parties and drag racing are occurring? Why aren't they responding, yet admitting to receiving many calls about such large street events? And does the parent of all these students know where their kids are at night? Especially the young girls walking around solely in their underwear at night!
I find it embarrassing for a neighborhood to have hundreds of vehicles and teens on hoods banging it out yet not one DPS officer responding, despite claiming they know of the situation already. Neighborhood streets, especially dirt roads, are not designated as drag strips. APD cleaned up Central Avenue from such activities in Albuquerque years ago. Yet many consider RR DPS a better police force, yet apparently afraid if there's a large numbers of teens.
Rio Rancho supposably has curfews and decency laws among other laws that could be enforced. And parents, you need to get a grip on your children! We've already had one student shot and numerous so-called rapings in Rio Rancho. Will your child be next?
