LETTER: Asking MAGA supporters to rethink Trump

I am writing this letter as an appeal to Donald Trump MAGA supporters to rethink your support for this extremely dangerous politician and his beliefs. For most Americans, Trump has nothing in common.

If you are an Evangelical, Trump stands for a very un-Christian way of life, disrespect of women, constant lying, and mistreatment of those less fortunate in society. He puts himself above his fellow citizens, the people of the world who look to the United States as a moral nation, and at times he even puts himself above God.

If you believe in the political philosophy of Ronald Reagan: a strong American military and distrust of Russia, Trump insults our military and is a sycophant of Vladimir Putin.

If you believe in a strong American presence in the world, Trump is a dove who will back down from every dictator and despotic country in the world such as Russia, China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc.

If you believe in the dignity of women, Trump says he has the right to grab them in any way that he sees fit simply because he is famous.

If you believe in fiscal responsibility, Trump ran up the greatest deficit of any president in American history with nothing to show for it.

If you are a believer in fairness, Trump’s tax breaks only benefited those making over half a million.

If you are a believer in democracy for which so many have given their lives, Trump believes in dictatorship and taking away the rights of the American people even to vote and he does not respect the outcomes of elections. If you really believe in dictatorship as Trump advocates, go to Russia or China and see how much you like it there.

If you believe in a strong federal government and separation of powers, Trump is an insurrectionist who will gladly call for a crowd to demand the lives of his own vice president and the rightfully elected Speaker of the House.

Before you follow a demagogue such as Trump and repeat what he tells you about Making America Great Again, get off social media conspiracy sites, pick up a history book, learn the truth, and become an informed voter.
