ELECTION 2024 candidate column: Anne Brady-Romero, Sandoval County Clerk

Anne Brady-Romero
Published Modified

Anne Brady-Romero is running for re-election! As your Sandoval County clerk, Anne has served since 2021.

Know your candidateAnne was employed by the clerk’s office in 2009.

Anne excelled in her position and was appointed as chief deputy Clerk in 2014. Seeing that many changes should be made, she ran for office while fighting breast cancer.

Determined to serve as a public servant to her constituents, Anne leads with inclusiveness, honesty, transparency, knowledge and integrity.

Anne lost her husband Robert this past April after 45 years of marriage. She has two adult children, a son-in-law and eight grandchildren.

Her accomplishments include• Expanding early voting sites in the Pueblos and Chapter Houses to allow up to 13 days of early voting — and, of course, Election Day.

• Improving security and expanding the BOE warehouse to be more efficient in the election process.

• Reached voters who are hard of hearing or deaf with an accessible video on the Sandoval County Clerk’s Office website.

• We went above and beyond the U.S. Justice Department’s 2016 settlement agreement for accessibility standards with our Sandoval County Accessible Voting Program.

• Won $150,000. The grant from the federal government invested in Sandoval County voter infrastructure.

• Through our “as traditional as” campaign, we won a nationally accredited Bronze Talley Award for our “Red and Green” commercial.

Finally, there are many more accomplishments that my staff and I have obtained. I would like to remain in my position; with your vote, we can! We also must trust in the election process of the state of New Mexico by following the laws and statutes.

Humbly, I ask for your vote.
