Woman attempts to hide meth from police in bra

A woman faces new charges after attempting to bring methamphetamine into jail.

During a routine traffic patrol near Star Heights Jan. 29, Rio Rancho Police officers saw a vehicle drive by with a license plate belonging to Lorainne Davidson, who had an active warrant for her arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, Davidson drove to a residence where officers were greeted by a man. The man went to get Davidson, and officers arrested her for the warrant when she exited.

One officer found a clear pipe with burn marks and asked Davidson if she had any meth. She said no.

Once transferred to the jail, a corrections officer conducted an intake search.

After, officers were told by the CO that Davidson had a bag of a substance they suspected as methamphetamine in her bra during a strip search.

Davidson was charged with possession of a controlled substance and bringing contraband into jail.

For possession, Davidson could face up to one year in jail and a fine for a full misdemeanor or a prison sentence not to exceed 18 months for fourth-degree felony.

Additionally, Davidson could face up to three years and a fine of up to $5,000 for bringing contraband into jail, which is a third-degree felony.
