Alejandra Lucero, about 24, of Albuquerque, was arrested for breaking and entering and two counts of possession of a controlled substance Aug. 27 at a residence near the intersection of Solano Meadows and Truchas Meadows drives.

When responding to a report of a burglary in progress — with an unknown female in the house — officers found Lucero on the floor with the homeowner standing over her. Lucero told police she came to the location with a man named Isaiah Montoya, who claimed he lived at the house and kicked open the door, and woke up to the homeowner throwing shoes at her in the bedroom. Officers found a small plastic bag with crystal meth and four fentanyl pills inside her purse.

The homeowner said she had not been home the past two nights and there should have been no one at the residence. She said when she got home, she found the front door, which she typically leaves unlocked, locked, and it had been severely damaged. She then found Lucero in the bedroom.

If convicted, Lucero could face up to five years in prison.
