The next exhibit at the Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas will be the “Enchanted: Hand Made, Hand Finished Fine Ceramics” by artists Sandy and Michael Kadisak from Dec. 5-31.

“Enchanted forests and natural wonders inspire lifelong artists Sandy and Michael Kadisak. Their unique ceramics span a wide range of expression from luminous functional pottery to little people and animal spirits. New forms arise and new motifs leap from the brush; handcrafted, evocative of the joy and spirit in life,” a release on the display states.

Sandy and Michael Kadisak have partnered in clay for 30 years and collaborate their creativity to make pottery, mixed-media work and expressive sculpture. New offerings this year include the Owl Spirit, large lidded jars and nativity set animals from the stately moose to the mysterious owl, turtles and more.

“Our unique ceramic collection is made using skills we’ve sharpened over the years. Each piece is a collaboration crafted by hand, imagination and careful design to create a timeless artifact,” the Kadisak’s said.

A portion of sales during the Dec. 9 reception, set for 1-4 p.m., will benefit Placitas District Volunteer Fire Brigade in honor of the 50th anniversary of Placitas’ volunteer fire department.

Wild Hearts Gallery is an artists’ collective supported by 16 local artists. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can also take a visual tour of the gallery by visiting wildheartsgallery.com.
