Weather Service issues freeze warning for Rio Grande Valley
The Albuquerque National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for much of the Rio Grande Valley in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area Oct. 29.
According to the warning, the freeze will take place from midnight Wednesday, Oct. 30, to 9 a.m. Oct. 31.
Sub-freezing temperatures can be expected to be as low as 25 degrees.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Sunny, with a high near 56. West wind 15-20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Mostly clear with a low around 27. Northwest wind 10-15 mph decreasing to 5-10 mph after midnight.
Sunny, with a high near 59. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.
Mostly clear, with a low around 34.
The service recommends people take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
