Two Food Truck Friday events set for this summer

Aleitress Owens Smith, owner of Aleitress Mobile Restrooms, is presenting Rio Rancho Food Truck Friday events in July and August.

The events are set for July 14 and Aug. 11 at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber beginning at 4 p.m. All ages are welcome to gather and enjoy food and music.

Owens Smith has held two previous Food Truck Friday events in May and June. The event on June 9 also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the addition of a second unit for Aleitress Mobile Restrooms.

“The idea started when I realized we don’t have much to do in Rio Ranch on a Friday night,” Owens Smith said.

Owens Smith said the food trucks change each month and the first two events have been well attended.

“People should attend this event to support local-owned food trucks,” Owens Smith said. “The people should know that it’s great to try different food and help keep local food trucks in business.”
