ALBUQUERQUE — Two men have been charged in a 2018 homicide in northwest Albuquerque.

Kevin Geier and Toure Britt have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Adrian Johnson, 42.

On March 16, 2018, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department were called to a homicide at 2600 Americare Court NW. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and seeing a Ford Excursion with Chihuahua license plates flee the area. A male, later identified as Johnson, found dead from a gunshot wound.

On March 18, 2018, Rio Rancho Police were called to a vehicle fire on the far west end of Southern Boulevard near the sand dunes that was believed to be related to the homicide.

Through the investigation, investigators believe Johnson went to the location on Americare in a stolen Excursion to locate a male who was also dating Johnson’s girlfriend. Britt and Geier went with Johnson to back him up regarding the issue; however, they allege the two men actually planned to rob and kill Johnson.

On Sept. 27, University Proactive Response Officers arrested Britt. Geire is in custody in Arizona.
