Trace Risinger, 39, of Albuquerque, and George Harney, 57, of Rio Rancho, were arrested May 3 on six counts each of burglary of a vehicle and one count each of resisting and evading arrest at Don Chalmers Ford on NM 528.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Rio Rancho Police Department, police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress, visible on surveillance, where two men were breaking into cars and burglarizing them. A total of six cars was burglarized.
While investigating the scene, police found Harney in the driver's seat of one of the vehicles. Even though he was ordered not to move, he got out of the vehicle and was tased. Harney then ran to the edge of the parking lot and jumped a wall. Officers followed and took him to the ground as they restrained him.
Officers also chased Risinger, who surrendered as soon as he got to the brick wall.
Both men, if convicted, will face 10 years in prison.
