Treasurer elected to Hispanic County Officials
BERNALILLO — Sandoval County Treasurer, Jennifer Taylor has been elected secretary of the National Association of Hispanic County Officials (NAHCO) for a two-year term, which began March 1.
“My goal is to contribute to the further development, improvement and success of county government here and across the country. I am honored to have been elected to this position and look forward to doing the work of NAHCO that will ultimately benefit all counties and all residents,” she said.
NAHCO was created about 45 years ago as a caucus within the National Association of County Officials (NACo). A release from Sandoval County states it is a grassroots organization that works to bring members together to advance Hispanic issues from a local official vantage point.
“This new position,” Taylor said, “complements the other board positions that I hold as an appointed member of the NACo Finance, Pension, and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, and as the elected secretary of the New Mexico Counties Treasurer’s Affiliate.”
She added that serving on both local and national organizations allows her to bring back the best practices to Sandoval County and provides the opportunity on an elevated stage for her to share how Sandoval County works with its taxpayers.
