Talk about telescopes coming to astronomical society in March
The Rio Rancho Astronomical Society will host its regular monthly meeting March 31 at Rainbow Park Observatory, behind Rainbow Pool.
Stephen Snider, vice president of the Rio Rancho Astronomical Society and president of the Albuquerque Astronomical Society, will speak on telescopes, including types of telescopes, how they work and which would be best for individual observers.
Snider has been an active amateur astronomer since 1977. He has attained the rank of Master Observer – Silver with the Astronomical League and is working toward Master Observer – Gold.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Telescopes will be available for public stargazing after the meeting, weather permitting.
