The weekly Tacos and Rides car meet that goes down at Cafe Bella Coffee will have theme nights starting Jan. 19.

“I wanted to mix it up and have something different for our car enthusiasts in the area to enjoy,” owner Michael Gonzales said.

Tacos and Rides meets from 7-9 p.m. every Friday except for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Vehicle owners of all kinds show up to mingle with other gearheads and car buffs. They can grab a traditional street taco or a fresh-brewed coffee inside.

Gonzales and several others bring cars, trucks and bikes of all makes and models. There is no judgement of what people bring to the meet unless, of course, there happens to be a competition between the vehicles.

The first theme night that Gonzales has thought up is Oldies, Hot Rods & Kustoms Night on Jan. 19.

“Join us for a spectacular evening at Cafe Bella Coffee, where we celebrate the love for classic autos with our special Oldies, Hot Rods & Kustoms Night, featuring the amazing Dragstrip Zombies Car Club!” he wrote in a flyer.

While classics fitting the theme of the night are encouraged, Gonzales said all styles, makes and years are still welcome.

“It’s your chance to shine and share your automotive passion,” he said.

He added that the meet will give those in attendance a chance to talk shop with some of the car clubs there, including the Dragstrip Zombies.

The event will also feature some “nostalgic” tunes.

“Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of the days gone bye. Get ready for a night filled with the charm and spirit of a bygone era, complete with classic tunes and timeless styles up to the builds of todays rides,” Gonzales said. The theme is what will encompass the night, but Gonzales says there is no competition at the show.“No competition here, just pure appreciation for classic wheels. Drive in, park up and enjoy the camaraderie. First to arrive is first parked,” he said. However, Gonzales stressed that safety is priority at the meet and encourages people to drive responsibly. Law enforcement was invited to ensure that.
