ALBUQUERQUE — The APS Invite Swimming and Diving tournament dove into action this past weekend as the winter sports season gets underway.
The Storm girls were the big winners for the City of Vision. They placed second overall and grabbed the silver medal. The CHS team was helped in large part by the strong effort of Lucia Pena who earned a gold, a silver and two bronze medals in her three events.
The Rams girls also had a strong performance, despite their 10th-place finish. Yami Martinez earned a gold and silver. Martinez posted the best time in the 50-meter freestyle (27.27).
Both the Storm and the Rams boys teams placed in the top 10, with CHS edging out RRHS for the ninth place spot.
