Listen to the story here:

The site of the new McDonald’s at Unser and Northern boulevards was pretty active Thursday afternoon.

Under the heat of the day, sign installers and landscapers were hard at it. Landscapers from Diaz Landscaping Management prepared the site, smoothing out gravel and placing shrubs.

Sign installers from Zeon Signs took on the task of erecting the fast-food restaurant’s famed golden arches.

You could say they were uploading them — except that it took some pretty tough balancing while installers were several feet up in the air.

It all started on the ground, with the arches framed in wood. Before it could be put up, installers had to set up the post, then the base for signage. The arches went at the very top.

Sign installers were Lake Mott and Nick Noe.
