Sheriff’s office investigating dead body

The Sandoval County Sheriff’s office is investigating a dead body found off NM 165, which runs through Placitas, last week, though few details are available.

According to a Friday release from the county, the department responded to a report of a possible dead body April 18 and located a deceased female. The identity of the deceased is yet to be determined.

The SCSO is still in the early stages of the investigation. The release states it is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public at this time.
