Shelter in place held for Southern corridor
RRPD officers parked at Western Hills Dr. on Southern Blvd. in response to a threat March 3 that prompted a shelter in place.
RIO RANCHO — A shelter in place occupied the Southern Boulevard corridor from 10:30-11:30 a.m. March 3 due to a man threatening his employer.
"Today at approximately 10:30 a.m., Rio Rancho Dispatch received a call that, allegedly, an armed male made a threat against a former employer and may be heading into Rio Rancho. A shelter in place was sent out to the surrounding community until the situation could be properly investigated and resolved. At this time, one male is being interviewed about this incident. The shelter in place has been lifted at this time," Rio Rancho Police Department Capt. Jacquelynn Reedy said.
The incident is currently under investigation, and more details will be provided as they become available.
