Santa Fe police have issued an arrest warrant for a Rio Rancho woman tied to car jackings there.

Katrina Quintana, 30, of Rio Rancho, has a warrant out for her arrest from a car jacking near Paseo De Paralta in Santa Fe.

According to a criminal complaint from SFPD, the victim told officers she was forcefully removed from her van by a woman, identified by police as Quintana, near Tomasita's.

The victim said Quintana drove toward Paseo De Peralta, hit multiple vehicles with the van and threw multiple items out the window. She was also reportedly threatening people with a knife.

When police found the van after it was parked, a witness told police Quintana left that location on foot. Police unsuccessfully searched the area for Quintana. Witnesses also saw Quintana go into a Santa Fe store near the crime scene and leave.

Police later got a call from Quintana saying her purse was stolen at the Rio Rancho Smith's. Santa Fe police connected with Rio Rancho Police Department, who were not able to locate Quintana at Smith's. Quintana indicated on the phone that she might head to Las Vegas.

Santa Fe police are charging Quintana with attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, two counts of criminal damage to property, leaving scene of accident, reckless driving, evading police, tampering with evidence and two counts of larceny. She could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
