Two K-9 deputies from the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office helped recover a stolen vehicle this week near Bernalillo.
They were dispatched to a potential stolen vehicle on Highway 550 just west of Bernalillo around 7 p.m. Monday. The K-9 units located the stolen vehicle driven by Christina Coronado, who allegedly stole the vehicle in Farmington. A short pursuit ensued before being called off due to the danger to other motorists.
Sandoval County Sheriff K-9 units later provided an alert to the New Mexico State Police and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Unit, who found Coronado driving the stolen vehicle in Albuquerque.
Coronado was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center; charges are being filed in both Sandoval County and Farmington.
