Sandoval County sent out a news alert Monday afternoon to announce reports of a brush fire in Llanito, north of the town of Bernalillo.

Sandoval County Fire Chief Eric Masterson said Sandoval County Fire and Rescue are on the scene joined by the town of Bernalillo, Corrales, and Cochiti Lake Fire departments as well as the New Mexico Forestry Service.

Masterson said some small structures were affected but not burned but the fire is moving into denser vegetation and will generate significant smoke.
