San Felipe woman pleads guilty to assault of infant
Salina Nicole Sandoval, 30, of San Felipe, pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
According to the plea agreement and other court documents, Sandoval, an enrolled member of the San Felipe Pueblo, assaulted an 8-month-old Jan. 21, 2022, at her home within the Sandoval County pueblo, resulting in serious injuries to the infant. Identified as Jane Doe, the infant’s injuries, which were diagnosed as abusive head trauma, included intracranial hemorrhages, shearing venous injuries and retinal hemorrhages in the left eye.
Sandoval faces up to 10 years in prison.
