RRPD warns of jury duty scams
RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Police Department announced on social media that they have received reports of phone calls targeting residents, claiming they have failed to appear for jury duty and threatening incarceration unless a fine is paid.
“If you receive a call like this, please hang up immediately! This is a scam,” the post says.
RRPD is urging everyone to share this information, especially with the elderly, who may be more vulnerable to these tactics.
