Some of areas of Rio Rancho High School were without power for a little over two hours Friday morning.

At 7:36 a.m., parents of RRHS students received emails and phone calls making them aware of the outage.

"We are experiencing a power outage in the Humanities, B&E and Admin areas of Rio Rancho High School. We are continuing operations and making adjustments as needed to ensure students are safe and well taken care of," RRHS administration said. "Our Facilities Department and electricians are working to get the power restored. At this time, we do not have information related to when it will be restored. Due to the outage, our school is unable to take calls. If anything changes, we will let you know. Thank you for your understanding."

No classes were disrupted and power was restored by 10:05 a.m.

"The power has been restored at Rio Rancho High School and our phones are working again. Thank you for your patience and understanding," RRHS administration said.
