RIO RANCHO — The city of Rio Rancho Governing Body approved a resolution June 12 that notifies the Sandoval County Clerk of Public Improvement Districts and Tax Increment Development Districts to be elected Nov. 4.

City Clerk Noel Davis said over the years the governing body has authorized the creation of various PIDs and TIDDs, which are local elected positions serving either a four or six-year term. This year, there are 29 positions available due to term expiration or vacancy.

The Stonegate PID and TIDD, Lomas Encantadas PID, Broadmoor Heights PID, Tierra Del Oro PID, Los Diamantes PID and TIDD, and Village TIDD are up for election.

The deadline to submit candidacy is Aug. 26 in the Sandoval County Clerk’s office. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

These are regular elections that most recently occurred in 2021 and 2023, according to Davis, and will continue to occur as long as there are vacancies on the PID and TIDD boards.
