Rio Rancho school board to meet on superintendent search
RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting this Friday to address several items related to the superintendent search.
The meeting agenda, released by the district Tuesday, said the five-member board will consider approving a timeline for the search, the salary range for the new superintendent, a position description and an advertising strategy for it.
Most items will be presented by two representatives from the the Minnesota-based search firm Ray and Associates. The district's legal counsel will discuss the position's description.
The board will welcome public comment during the special meeting, according to the agenda.
Before the meeting, the board will meet in executive session — which is closed to the public and press — to discuss the hiring of a new superintendent.
The search comes following the Sept. 17 announcement that RRPS Superintendent Dr. Sue Cleveland, the district's founding superintendent and the longest-serving in the state's history, will step down from her role in the spring.
