Rio Rancho relief efforts underway for Lincoln County fire victims

In the wake of the devastating South Fork and Salt fires in and around Ruidoso, the Rio Rancho community is coming together to support the victims in Lincoln County.

Edit House Productions and the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce are spearheading efforts to collect essential items for those affected by the fires.

Residents of the Rio Rancho area who wish to contribute to the relief efforts can drop off supplies from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce 4201 Crestview Drive SE, off NM528, one block south of Target.
  • Edit House Productions, LLC 640 Quantum Road NE, north of the Rio Rancho Police Department.

The following items are urgently needed:

  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Towels
  • Toiletries and hygiene items
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Bottled water
  • Clothing
  • Pet supplies and food
  • Sleeping bags
  • Bandannas and work gloves
  • Batteries

For those who wish to donate money, the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Lincoln County, is supporting the New Mexico Wildfire Relief Fund and Emergency Action Fund.

Contributions can be made online to the Greatest Need Fund for Lincoln and Otero counties.
