Rio Rancho Lacrosse heads to Santa Fe for Jamboree

SANTA FE – On Oct. 12 and 13, Rio Rancho Lacrosse, the City of Vision’s premier lacrosse club team, is heading north to train with professional lacrosse players and participate in the annual Jamboree hosted by Santa Fe Lacrosse (SFLAX).

According to their website, SFLAX is a 501c3 community sports organization focused on growing the sport of lacrosse in New Mexico. “Lacrosse offers a unique opportunity for physical, emotional and character development, and SFLAX embodies the spirit of the game,” they say.

The Jamboree is open to all New Mexico squads, but the rules stipulate all players must have at least a year of experience. The event is hosted by SFLAX and the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL.)

Oct. 12 will be a clinic for the participants. 4th through 8th grade will have a clinic from 2p.m.-4 p.m. and 9th through 12th will go from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

The games will take place on Oct. 13 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Municipal Recreation Complex, 205 Caja del Rio Rd. Santa Fe.
