The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning which is in effect from 11 am to 7 pm today. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

“An upper level disturbance will bring strong westerly to southwesterly winds Wednesday afternoon and early evening that will combine with above normal temperatures, an unstable atmosphere, and low humidity to produce widespread critical fire weather conditions. Single-digit humidity will be possible in eastern NM,” it says.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Officials and fire crews are to be advised.
