RIO RANCHO – Rio Rancho Rams cross country star Charlie Vause has been making waves all season and rising in the national spotlight. Now, according to dyestatxcrankings.com, an independent site that tracks and ranks cross country teams and individuals around the country, has named the senior runner to their Individual Boys Top 30 “Watch List”.

The list names the top 30 runners in the country, plus an additional 15 who are named to the “Watch List.” And nestled in among the names from states with huge cross country programs is the City of Vision’s own Charlie Vause.

Vause is the top runner on the #12 cross country team in the nation, according to DyeStats, and the #5 team in the southwest region.

His fastest time in competition this season was 14:42.20 (in a 5,000-meter race), which was good enough to snag him the first-place trophy at the Desert Twilight Meet in Arizona in September.

Most recently, Vause finished third at the Academy XC Extravaganza on Oct. 19.

Eldorado running star Gianna Rahmer was named #22 in the nation on the DyeStats Individual Girls Top 30 list.

Both runners will get the chance to show their stuff on Nov. 9 as the NMAA Cross Country State Championship gets under way.
