RIO RANCHO – After a big year in 2024, R4Creating kept the news rolling in 2025. On Monday, the Rio Rancho-based nonprofit STEM learning center announced its new board of directors and executive committee.

Executive committee:

• Mary Tieman, president, COO of Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance

• George Gorsospe, vice president, senior research scientist at NASA

• Kathy Steen, treasurer, Innovation Program manager at NewSpace Nexxus

• Chrisma Jackson, secretary, director of cybersecurity and mission computing/CISC at Sandia National Laboratories

Board of directors:

• Doug Campbell, founder, Leaders of Enchantment

• Kyle Biederwolf, manager of external affairs at Comcast

• TJ Cook, co-founder, Agentic Studios

• Sue Anne Athens, chief information officer at NM Department of Workforce Solutions

• Delfina Garcia, owner, Garcia & Associates

• Tracy Hines, manager at Home Depot

• Jennifer James, senior multimedia sales executive at Albuquerque Business First

R4’s mission is, “to provide support for those organizations making valuable contributions to increase the number of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) opportunities for students.”

The R4 Robotics competed last year at the BEST Competition in Dallas, Texas, where they won first place in Robot Competition, Engineering Notebook, Marketing Presentation, Exhibit Booth, Interview and Spirit, and the competition’s highest honor, the BEST Award, which honors the students’ efforts in every category of the STEM entrepreneurial competition.
