BOYSCleveland StormThe Storm boys have had a solid season so far, despite a recent loss to Volcano Vista. The team is 14-6 (as of Monday night) and star Remy Albrecht is rounding into form.

CHS is in second place in the 5A-1 standings with a 3-1 record.

The Storm are ranked fourth in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.

Rio Rancho RamsIt’s been an up-and-down season for the Rams, who were ranked third in the state on Jan. 7, and nearly beat the vaunted Volcano Vista Hawks at the Metro Tournament. After their tough defeat at Metros, the Rams went on a five-game losing streak and plummeted down the rankings.

On Jan. 30, the team bounced back, taking a decisive 77-60 road victory over Piedra Vista. The win was the first for RRHS in district and boosts their record to 12-8, 1-3 in 5A-1.

The Rams are ranked 15th in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.

Bernalillo SpartansThe Spartan boys squad has had a rough season. They sport an 8-13 record, 0-3 in 4A-6, and are in the midst of a five-game losing streak.

Despite the rough results, the season has had highlights.

One of those bright spots has been the play of senior Hyshtiani Kaulaity-Quintana, who leads the Spartans with 101 points this season.

The Spartans are ranked 82nd in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.

GIRLSCleveland StormThe Storm girls, behind first-year head coach Stacy Pokorski, are 11-9 and sit alone atop the 5A-1 standings.

Despite recent tough losses to La Cueva (44-41 at La Cueva on Jan. 17) and most recently to Volcano (46-41 at Volcano Vista on Jan. 31), it has been a solid season for the Storm. They have quality wins over sixth-ranked Farmington (Jan. 24 at home) and 12th-ranked Volcano Vista (Jan. 11 at Volcano Vista).

Junior Malia Mose is leading the team in rebounds and steals, with 96 and 54 respectively, while Savannah Madueno leads the team in scoring with 220.

The Storm are ranked 17th in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.

Rio Rancho RamsThe Rams girls are coming off a two-game winning streak that included a 64-16 demolition of district rivals, the Cibola Cougars. The team now sports a 13-7 record and are 2-2 in the district.

RRHS has a quality win over Albuquerque High, whom they defeated 47-44 in a Jan. 8 slobber-knocker.

The three Martinezes, Lilly, Larissa and Madilynn, are leading the Rams in points, assists and steals per game.

The Rams are ranked 11th in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.

Bernalillo SpartansWith an 8-13 record, 0-3 in 4A-6, the Spartan girls are struggling a bit. That record also includes their current five-game losing streak.

The good news is that this is a young team and they will have plenty of experience under their belts by the end of the season. The sophomore trio of Samaria Brown, Trinity Calabaza and Rayann Downing are leading the Spartans in numerous categories, including points, rebounds, steals and blocks.

The Spartans are ranked 75th in New Mexico, according to MaxPreps.com.
