A power outage in the town of Bernalillo Friday afternoon caused several offices to close early for the weekend.

El Zocalo Event Center and Tourism Offices and Sandoval County Community Services Offices are now closed for the day. They will reopen Monday morning.

Town Hall, Martha Liebert Public Library, the MVD office and the Bernalillo Community Museum are closed until further notice.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, PNM’s Outage map does not list any in Bernalillo. In March, 13 outages were reported in Rio Rancho and Bernalillo because of strong winds.

It is unclear what caused the outages Friday, but Bernalillo Mayor Jack Torres told the Observer that he heard secondhand that a transformer is out.
