Robert Krause, 29, Rio Rancho, has a warrant out for his arrest for aggravated battery upon a peace officer with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property, and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer near Meadowlark Lane May 8.

An officer responding to a call for a stolen vehicle traveling on Meadowlark Lane found the vehicle at Krause's residence. With a misdemeanor warrant already out for Krause's arrest, and with his history of fleeing and resisting officers and possessing stolen vehicles, a special service unit was called out.

When they arrived, Krause exited the house and got into the stolen vehicle. An officer attempted to get closer in a police car, but Krause rammed the vehicle with the stolen car with the officer inside. Other officers tried to stop Krause but were unsuccessful, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Krause will face at least five years in prison if he is convicted.
