An Albuquerque man faces several charges after allegedly ramming a vehicle into a police car.
Marcos Gurule, about 39, was arrested Feb. 10 for aggravated battery upon a peace officer with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and receiving or transferring stolen motor vehicles in the parking lot of the Enchanted Hills shopping center.
Officers responding to a report of a stolen car found it occupied by two people, including Gurule, outside of Ross Department Store. They blocked the car in, with one squad car in back and one in front. Gurule then rammed the vehicle into one of the units.
At this point, officers commanded the people get out of the car and detained them. During a search, they also found methamphetamine in a backpack belonging to Gurule.
Gurule will serve six years in prison if convicted.
