Pedestrian in critical condition after 528 crash

A pedestrian is in critical condition after a vehicle struck them Sept. 8.
According to Rio Rancho Police Department Capt. Jacquelynn Reedy, at approximately 8 p.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle near NM 528 and Leon Grande/Ridgecrest. The vehicle had fled the scene, and Rio Rancho Fire Rescue transported the pedestrian to UNMH in critical condition.
The investigation is active at this time, and the identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
Police are requesting any information people may have from the incident be shared with RRPD immediately.
