Northern reconstruction timeline and traffic pattern
The reconstruction of Northern Blvd. got underway on Jan. 15.
It is a full-depth roadway reconstruction from Rockaway Blvd. to NM528, including a new water line, full reconstruction of the asphalt pedestrian path on the south side of Northern Blvd. and new A.D.A.-compliant ramps throughout the project.
The project is expected to wrap up in October, though an exact date isn’t provided.
As far as the traffic pattern, Northern will be down to one lane in either direction in the southbound lane. There will be a merge into the right lanes just before Rockaway. The city advises there will be some delays.
There will also be some detours at the Loma Colorado Blvd. intersection.
