NMDOT announces winners of snowplow naming contest

The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced the winners snowplow naming contest that received more than 1,500 submissions and more than 23,000 votes.

Each of the six NMDOT district has two winning names.

The 2024 winners for District 3, which includes Sandoval County, are Better Call Salt and Darth Blader.

The other winners are:

District 1: Sleetwood Mac and Snowplowpilla

District 2: Billy the Skid and That’s All Slick

District 4: EE, I Snow, huh? and Walter Whiteout

District 5: Snowzobra and Bisc-Snow-Chito

District 6: Ctrl-Salt-Delete and Mr. Snow It All

“We depend on our fleet to serve our communities and make the roads safer for the traveling public, and we are excited to give our trucks some awesome names,” NMDOT said in a release. “Look for these snowplow trucks across the state of NM, plowing snow, dropping salt, and ensuring safe roadways for the traveling public.”
