BERNALILLO — The trial date for a teen who killed a woman earlier this year has been pushed to May 2025.

Josh Mora, now 18, of Rio Rancho, was indicted in May for the first-degree murder of Heather Nichole Lamb, 44, of Albuquerque, and tampering with evidence.

Mora was initially scheduled to go to trial Nov. 4, but according to court records, the state still needs time for the discovery process. Now, Mora is scheduled for May 1, 2025.

Mora remains detained as he awaits trial. If convicted, he faces life in prison, which is the equivalent of 30 years.
