Police have said the incident that led to a traffic shutdown in northwest Albuquerque Monday appears to be a justifiable homicide.

A release from the Albuquerque Police Department says the death of an adult male followed a road rage incident at Eagle Ranch and Paseo Del Norte. At about 1 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and found the man pinned underneath a vehicle. He died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives, after interviewing multiple witnesses, determined he got run over by a vehicle after brandishing a handgun. APD said there are no outstanding suspects.

The incident impacted traffic Monday, shutting down traffic in the area of Coors Blvd., Paseo Del Norte and Eagle Ranch Road for several hours.
